      Towing Endorsement: Requirements

      Which Licenses Can Have a Towing Endorsement Attached?

      What license can the Towing Endorsement be attached to?  

      Any USCG license of 200 gross tons or less, including an OUPV/Six-Pack and Master's license, may be endorsed for assistance towing.

      Do I need additional sea time for a Towing Endorsement?  

      Upon successfully passing your exam, a certificate will be issued that is recognized by the USCG as satisfying the testing requirements. 

       

      Simply submit the application form and fee to the Coast Guard. Other than passing the Mariners Learning System Towing Endorsement course, there are no additional licensing requirements to have this endorsement added to a captain's license.
