      FCC Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator’s License

      What is the Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator’s License?  

      Restricted GMDSS Radio Operators Product ImageThe RG qualifies the holder to operate, and make some basic equipment adjustments to, Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) radio installations, but only on voyages that remain within twenty (20) nautical miles of shore. It also confers the operating authority of the MP. 

       

       

      Which element exams must I pass for the Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator’s License?  

      You must pass Elements 1 and 7R to meet the written requirement of the Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator’s License.
