I am a mariner who needs an STCW GMDSS training certificate, now what?
If you are a mariner (deck officer) serving on a vessel equipped with the GMDSS system, you may be required to obtain a course certificate from a 70-hour USCG approved training course in GMDSS. The FCC examination and associated paperwork will be conducted during the course and a separate exam is not necessary. An FCC license without the course will NOT satisfy STCW requirements.
