Captain's Classroom vs. Online Training

Making the Right Choice with Mariners Learning System

Should I do online or classroom training?

One of the most important decisions that you will make is how you want to take your course - online or in a classroom

There are many misconceptions about online boating classes, but without a doubt, it is the best way to improve your confidence as a passenger or boater on the open water.

Watch this video that points out the differences between the two learning avenues.

Is online the best way for me to get a captain’s license?

If you don’t have the time in your schedule to attend a lecture in a classroom, studying through an online course or with hard copy workbooks is the best way to get your captain’s license.

Plus, when you study on your own, you can go at your own pace. In classrooms, some students feel held back while others can’t keep up because everyone learns at a different speed. With online learning, this problem is nonexistent!

Still, it’s important to choose a captain’s license course that makes online learning as easy as it should be. Not all electronic correspondence courses are created alike. Some are very text-heavy, making it difficult to focus and grasp the knowledge you need to pass your test. Look for an interactive and comprehensive online captain’s license school. Classes that incorporate video content are best for boaters who prefer to learn through visuals.

Mariners Learning System offers online captain’s license courses that check all these boxes!
